Health Conscious: pH7 Pilates
By Image Mag Staff @ 9:24 PM :: 266 Views :: 1 Comments :: :: Sports

...misconception that Pilates is exclusively for women, its inventor was, in fact, a man. Not any mere man either, Pilates was a boxer, a circus performer and a self-defense trainer. He could’ve probably kicked most of our @$$-es if he’d wanted to.

Hindsight: Theatre du Vaudeville
By Image Mag Staff @ 12:04 PM :: 260 Views :: 0 Comments :: Events

To be fair, this was the first time I’ve seen live vaudeville and only the second time I had a clown bring me Guinness without making me cry. I found the plot as described above to be lost somewhere betwixt the contortionist, the stilt walkers, the magician and the belly dancer, however each and every one of the performers did a superb job in displaying their craft in front of a crowd of enthusiastic patrons.

Mile High Clubbin’: Beta Nightclub
By Image Mag Staff @ 9:43 AM :: 1196 Views :: 1 Comments :: :: Nightlife

Also, Beta Nightclub certainly isn’t the first club to enforce some sort of dress code, but its “Fashion Forward” policy could be the most difficult to define.  Fortunately, we here at Image hope to provide some guidance at our fifth annual fashion extravaganza, In Bloom V, April 25th

Fork It: Bruno’s Italian Bistro
By Image Mag Staff @ 9:33 AM :: 378 Views :: 0 Comments :: Food

Open the door and the incredible aroma immediately seduces you. Water trickles over tile on the adjacent wall. Deeply stained wooden chairs encircle tables that are dressed in white. Low lights accent the walls stained the color of sunrise. Two levels divide the dining room with a single step and create secluded dining. I surmise the décor has greatly improved since the late Bruno’s.

Brain Pickin’: Jersey Trouble (Mile High Club)
By Image Mag Staff @ 9:14 AM :: 571 Views :: 6 Comments :: :: Sports

When did you finally get the "cajones" to join said club?
I knew I wanted to join the MHC before the team even existed. In order to guarantee my spot, I practiced hard and gave my all in every bout. I also needed to make sure my husband would be okay with it...

CD Report Card: Mike Doughty-Golden Delicious
By Image Mag Staff @ 10:39 AM :: 266 Views :: 0 Comments :: Music: Reviews

When the film version of the musical Hair hit theatres in 1979, Mike Doughty was there.  It impacted the future lyricist in a profound way.  “Sodomy” has a tendency to do that to you.  While on a visit to D.C.’s Walter Reed Army Hospital just last year, Doughty met a few Iraq War amputees.  Vets missing limbs in the flesh inevitably moved him.

CD Report Card: Ministry-The Last Sucker
By Image Mag Staff @ 10:27 AM :: 234 Views :: 0 Comments :: Music: Reviews

The most recent installment in Jourgensen’s Bush bashing trilogy, The Last Sucker, is slightly more stripped down then some of his better known work, and the lyrics seem a bit punchy compared to the guttural street poetry of yesteryear, but the raw senseless rage is still very much a part of the Ministry sound machine.

By Image Mag Staff @ 10:22 AM :: 227 Views :: 0 Comments :: Music: Reviews

Dive Deep, the Godfreys’ sea change (pun intended), is the first Morcheeba platter to feature a true ensemble cast.  Some pipes are more pleasing than others, though.  Singer Judie Tzuke gels well with the boys in the studio, landing lead on the aquatic-themed album’s kickoff single “Enjoy the Ride.”

Balls Out: Rockies’ Roll
By Image Mag Staff @ 9:59 AM :: 205 Views :: 0 Comments :: Sports

A commonly uttered sports adage is that “it’s better to be lucky than good.” After a miraculous month of September that saw the Colorado Rockies rally their way to a National League pennant and their first World Series appearance in franchise history, Denver baseball fans are hoping the Rockies might actually, and finally, be a little of both.

CD Report Card: Swayback-Long Gone Lads

A welcome sensation of doom and gloom saturates the music of the The Swayback’s sophomore album, Long Gone Lads. Throughout the album, the music of the Denver trio takes me back to Sunday nights at the 1082.

Stage Advice: Defending the Caveman
By Image Mag Staff @ 9:47 AM :: 79 Views :: 0 Comments :: Events

Anthropology, mythology, prehistory, psychology and sociology were the primary subjects Becker mined while giving birth to Caveman (“night school” with his wife Mariah was a prerequisite). Doing the “bookworm” paid off too.
