Funny boner Ben Kronberg made his name 5,280 feet above sea level in the illustrious Mile High Club, scoring with throngs at Denver's Comedy Works and The US Comedy Arts Fest in Aspen, but migrated westward earlier this year to whet his shtick in a bigger pond chock full of God's concubines ("angels", in laymen's terms). Image Magazine recently quizzed the sick and twisted grey matter that lives beneath Kronberg's signature do via MySpazz on the occasion of his first homecoming show August 1st at The Oriental Theater.
At what age did you first realize your comedic potential? Potty training involved?
I haven't realized my potential yet. It was more private part training.
Were you ever the “class clown” in school?
Sort of. I loved to moon people and actually press my bare butt cheeks against car windows of "friends"
Higher education: pleasing rents is important or ginormous waste of time and money? The Indians believed in renting I think, and I believe in Indians.
How important is image? Where would you be without yours?
I think very important - though I like the idea of anti-image and slyly defying expectations. I would be blind without my image.
Poop jokes are obviously staples in your routines, ever become constipated both physically and creatively…simultaneously?
I hate, and luckily rarely experience, constipation of either variety - when I am blocked I just write a joke about being blocked.
All-time favorite “food ghosts”?
Do you mean joke? Or poop joke? - food ghosts has been one of my more popular, more memorable jokes for people, plus I got to say it on TV - though I am fond of another poop-joke that has sex involved. I can't put it down in this answer because I may tell it at my show.
Airing dirty laundry: therapeutic or insensitive?
I love talking sh!+.
Women ever scared to date you for fear of ending up as a punch line?
I don't know - probably - if they know what's good for them.
Going to LA to make it is so cliché, what are you doing different?
Faking it.
