Since their grand opening in November, the Santa Fe Tequila Company is quickly becoming a staple of the Santa Fe Arts District. Owner / General Manager Bill Kennedy has transplanted his love of Northern New Mexico to the mile high city, without skimping on the stucco and pottery.
The SFTC claims its fame by reshaping the classic concept of tequila and tequila-related beverages. Every specialty drink is named after a different slang for LSD, with handles like: Yellow Sunshine, Pink Dragon and Electric Kool-Aid to name a few. It is foolish to assume that you won’t be turned on to a consciousness-expanding dinner or cocktail hour.
Their margaritas boast zero pre-fab mixes and are constructed using only the freshest of ingredients. The Purple Haze stands out among the featured specialty drinks; a house margarita floated with red Sangria clouding over in a psychedelic Jimi Hendrix reference.
Latin Night will commence once a month and shall consist mainly of Latin DJ’s and jazz bands. The idea is to add more than just the standard electronic flavor to the restaurant’s ambience and to broaden the expectations of visitors by providing them with a more eclectic entertainment experience.
For amplified nourishment, the Steak Rosalia, in all its mushroom sauce- drenched, sautéed spinach-garnished glory, is an entrée that guarantees at least a decade’s worth of flashbacks, without any of the ghastly side effects typically associated with a New Mexican acid trip.
