Atmosphere & Aphrodisiacs

Whether embarking on your first date or just showing the one you love you’ve still got it, you can’t go wrong with a big smoldering pot of chocolate, and where better than 15th Street’s La Fondue.

ATMOSPHERE: Like gazing at that special someone curled up next to a roaring fire, La Fondue lets you do it with a big bowl of love.

APHRODISIAC: House Specialty Combination. Your choice of cheese fondue to start, accompanied by a salad. A Main course with Main Lobster tails, Filet Mignon among other dippable goodies. And, of course, a chocolate fondue to finish.

AMORE: A range of options from do-it-yourself tempura to their specialty Bourguignon. All this and a broad wine list to boot. Mix it up with a dark and white chocolate combination with a touch of caramel.

Bubbling pots of gooey goodness are universally appealing. No? Oh really mister/miss’s “I’m so much better than you” I know about that time you found a Snickers bar sandwiched between your car seats in the middle of July. And what did you do with said sticky mess? You ate it, didn’t you, and not only that, you enjoyed it?! That’s right, let it out, it’s okay, it’s no longer a secret. How ‘bout I tell you something to help ease the humiliation; we’ve all done it… Yes even you shaking your head. And I’ll tell you another thing too, it’s perfectly normal. Heck, go to La Fondue and they’ll show you how to really do it in style. But before we get to that ever-present sweet tooth of yours, let’s slow things down and get acquainted with the place.

La Fondue has been a staple in Downtown Denver for long enough that it has become a traditional place to meet for a pre/post theatre bite. And over those years they have learnt how to give the crowd exactly what they want. From do-it-yourself Tempura to Maine Lobster tail, La Fondue is able to tailor to several tastes while keeping the menu short and simple. For those of you who are new to the Fondue game (no, the melted candy bar in your car doesn’t count) or if you’re just out for a good meal with someone special or a group of friends, you should go with the House Specialty Combination. A three-course meal setup to give you the whole experience, this really is the way to go. Starting with the cheese course, you can select from a variety of combinations including light Swiss offerings to more robust cheddars and beer. With this course, you can choose from a number of salad options. For the main course, I’d recommend the Bourguignon, which is a meaty beef stock with mushrooms and a menagerie of herbs. Accompanied to this steaming pot of hearty goodness, is a plate of Filet Mignon, Chicken, Shrimp and Maine Lobster tail. After cooking these little cubed delights in the pot, you can choose between a variety of dipping sauces to give it that extra kick. Choose one of their wines from the wide variety at hand and you’ve got yourself one satisfying concoction. But wait, the best is yet to come. Remember that candy bar? Here’s how it’s truly done. Pick from milk, dark or white chocolate or just combine them into a new hybrid. We chose dark and white chocolate with caramel to make a sort of gooey looking yin and yang.

So next time you find a melted bar of goo down the side of your car seat, turn around and head to La Fondue and do it right… Yes you can eat the candy bar on the way there you cretins, just save some for me!
