While many major car companies have expanded into the market of big-sized sports utility vehicles, Dodge recently released the Dodge Nitro, its first mid-size SUV, into the public market and with much acclaim.
“It’s a fully on-road or off-road SUV that will fit any lifestyle,” says Dodge Marketing Manager for the Denver Business Center, Doug Sedbrook. “Not only is it fully capable off-road, it’s fully capable and comfortable on-road.”
To help promote the Nitro, Dodge has teamed up with Anheuser-Busch and Budweiser and they’re planning a giveaway of a brand new Dodge Nitro on Opening Day for the Colorado Rockies at Coors Field.
“We’re going to throw a huge party Opening Day with fun, food and drink,” Sedbrook says. “If their key starts the car, they’re the winner of a brand new Dodge Nitro.
The prize Nitro is fully loaded by Budweiser with $10,000 worth of extra options that include a Bud-red grill and ground glow, 20-inch dub rims, custom interior, individual, drop-down movie screens and fully digital faceplate controls for the DVD player, custom stereo and a GPS navigation system, among other things.
Budweiser has promoted the souped-up Nitro all over town at pubs, dance clubs, Broncos, Nuggets and Avalanche home games plus other major events and locations around Denver. After March 16, entries will no longer be accepted. Of all the entries, 25 will be  randomly picked and invited to an Opening Day party at Coors Field.  All 25 will be equipped with a Dodge Nitro key, but only one will drive away a winner after the April 2 opener.
The new Nitro is available in three models that include the SXT, the SLT and the RT. All have V-6 engines and great fuel efficiency ranging from 17 city MPG to 24 highway MPG. The RT is available only as a six-speed, manual transmission, while the other two models are available with both six-speed manual and four-speed automatic. The SXT and the SLT offer 3.7-liter engines with 210 horsepower and 235 pounds of torque. The RT is the deluxe version and offers slightly more muscle, with a 255 horsepower engine and 265 pounds of torque.
Engine and transmission aside, all Dodge Nitros are available with an array of tantalizing extras including performance-enhanced suspension and an iGig, which allows for up to 2,500 songs, loads of other digital media and GPS navigation, to boot. Not to mention, he
Nitro’s 400 square feet of stow-and-go space makes it a driving dream for soccer moms and outdoorsmen alike.
Whether it’s Bud’s super-souped Nitro or not, Dodge’s newest mid-size SUV offers nearly everything a consumer could want in a utility vehicle. Perfect for both the weekday businessman and the weekend mountain warrior, the Nitro has got the look, luxuries, performance and storage that’s perfect for any lifestyle.
“It’s got a commanding performance and a commanding appearance,”
Sedbrook says. “Not to mention, it’s fun to drive, too.”
Even though Budweiser is promoting the Nitro, Sedbrook reminds drivers not to drink and drive.
“We ask that our customers drink responsibly,” Sedbrook says. “Budweiser just offers us a whole new market to promote to. It’s been a terrific partnership.”
