Could Colorado be home to the 2nd largest Mardi Gras celebration outside of New Orleans? According to VailPM.com, this is the plan for Event Coordinators in charge of Vail’s 2007 Mardi Gras Party. From Sunday February 18 thru Fat Tuesday on February 20th, festival goers can take advantage of deals on ski packages and lodging in Vail while they enjoy family-oriented events during the day and night! There’s the Crawfish Boil at 10,000 feet in Eagle’s Nest, face painting in the Village, a masquerade parade in the village on Fat Tuesday, and more! Night owls can enjoy events featuring legendary blues artists like John Lee Hooker Jr. on Sunday night at Samana; Vail Valley’s Jazz Guru Tony G, who is teaming up with New Orleans-inspired funk master Little Hercules on Monday night at the Crawfish Boil; and an All-Star band featuring special guests like the Motet, Henry Butler, Anders Osborn and his band, and more at Club 8150 on Fat Tuesday.
